When I connect to any Windows XP client, transparent desktop icons background changes to a default color and goes back to transparent after closing RC session. This looks like "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop" option under My Computer's properties - Advanced - Performance - Visual Effect is disabled for the time of using LANDesk Remote Control function and enabled again when finished.
However once in a while (I would say on about 1 out of 50 PCs) icons background will stay solid and can't be turned on again.. Tried disabling and enabling "use drop shadows..." option, and changing various registry keys suggestions I found in Google, reinstalled LANDesk agent - still no joy. Logging in as different user (local or domain) or deleting user local profile doesn't help.
This annoys some users so I wonder if you came across this problem and have any solution.
I use LANDesk 8.8 with SP2 (although had this issue before applying SP2) server, agents and console all the same version. PCs I remotely control are XP Pro machines mostly with SP2 and SP3.
