Remote Control - viewer slow when entering credentials to unlock client

Hi,

 

When remote controlling a client, we are experiencing a delay when entering credentials to either login or unlock the workstation:

 

When typing credentials, the username or password 'dots' appear instantly on the client being controlled, however the screen refresh on the viewer can take several seconds.

 

Once logged in there are no other speed issues during the remote control session. Client is XP SP2, using LDMS 8.8 SP2.

 

Any help appreciated!

If I'm and administrator, with rights and roles assigned (full) shouldn't I bypass this screen when doing a HTML remote control session?

After I deploy agents to clients ...

Some of that can be remote control and some of that can't ....the remote control button is grey out...Why??

i would like to add a colum "user " to the Magmanet Suite - "All devices" layout so if a user call me to help him per remote i would find him.

HTML Remote Control not passing through user authentication

Hi

 

I was under the impression and informed from a recent boot camp that with 9.6 SP1 when using HTML remote control it should auto authenticate and pass through the logged on users credentials and allow access if setup.

 

Whenever I go to https://COMPUTERNAME:4343/ I get a prompt for user credentials instead of logging straight through.

 

This happens on IE11 and Chrome

Hi, I wish to add a user to allow the remote control but the Remote Control Operators group  is not present on some workstations.

So what's the best practice to allow remote control for a non admin user ?

Same as in previoius versions of LANDesk - same issue in LDMS v9 SP2 - how can this issue still be an issue?

 

When using an English keyboard and English Language OS - when doing a remote control to client at their Windows Login Prompt - isn't working to map correctly remote control operators US keyboard and English Language OS to client.

Hi,

 

I would need some advises on configuring LANDESK's remote control feature, this is what we want to do:

 

1. By default, all PCs are enabled with LANDESK remote control feature. User will be prompted and grant permission before LANDESK operator/admin can remote control the PC.

2. Now, we have some PCs where we want to remote control without the need of user permissions to troubleshoot some issues. We want to restrict the remote access without user interaction to 1 or 2 LANDESK operators only, not to all remote control operators.

 

I know that we can create separate set of LANDESK agent to be able to remote control without user permission.

But it does not restrict to approved LANDESK remote control operator only. All LANDESK operators with remote control access can remote control the PC without permission.

What we want is only allow approved administrator to remote control the PC without permission while the rest of the LANDESK operator follows the normal procedures (user gets prompt to ask for remote control access. If the user click "Yes", only one can remote control the screen). 

 

I can't figure out how to restrict the permission to particular admin only.

 

Is there a way to do this? I am using LANDESK 9, SP2.

 

Appreciate if someone can shred some lights on this.

Remote Control - Integrated Security: Unable to establish a secure session with the remote computer (-5)

I am unable to remote control via Integrated Security, neither locally or via gateway. The Windows NT Security/local tempate works on our domain machines, but I wanted to run Integrated Security in the hopes of being able to use the agentless remote control of machines that aren't on our domain. I have gone thru every troubleshooting article I can find on here in regards to this issue.

 

I've walked thru the following article, ( http://community.landesk.com/support/docs/DOC-1186 ) and the only part that confuses me is in reference to .NET 1.1, because it's referring to an old version of the software (8.7 I believe).

 

It works fine at a seperate core, on a seperate domain. Are there any suggestions on what I can do to help troubleshoot this? I know I've experienced IIS issues in the past.

Hello!

 

I am receiving the error Receive failed: 0. when trying to remote into two production servers.  I'm stumped because I can remote to other computers just fine and my google-fu for this error has proved weak ;-)

 

Any help will be appreciated!!

Keyboard and Mouse greyed out

When I remote one of my clients in this case (Windows 7 Pro 64bit Laptop), I am unable to use the mouse or keyboard remotely but can see the desktop of the client.  Keyboard and mouse is greyed out.  I have remoted another client with same OS and works fine.  Have removed and added agent on machine and disabled firewall.  Still not luck.  Any ideas?

Problem:

 

When connecting from a pc with agent ver.10.0.1.104 and isscntr.exe ver.10.1.0.168 (LANDesk Remote Control Viewer) to an older agent version 9.50 the session is terminated with Receive failed: 0

 


Solution / Workaround

 

To solve this problem try to remove "LANDesk Virtual Smart Card reader" with the command "lddevcon.exe remove root\LDRemoteSC" from pc with agent 10.0.1.104.

Cannot remote control - authentication issues

We were initially a Netware shop and had Landesk running on Server 2003 with no problems taking remote control of workstations.  Two weeks ago we migrated to Windows networking, and now remote control no longer works.  We are always asked for credentials, but entering AD credentials doesn't work.  We need a full explanation of how to set up administrators to use remote control once the Landesk server and all workstations have been added to a Windows domain.  The documents I have found so far don't explain the process completely and don't seem to work anyway.

Disable Switch Mode Button

Is there a way to disable the switch mode button in the Remote Control icon window?  I'd like to disable it for all computers other than laptops?  I know I can create a policy that forces direct mode, but I'd like to try and help prevent a user switching it to gateway.

ISSUSER Application Error

I have a lenovo t510 that is having an issue with the issuer.exe processs.  Whenever it starts up for the first time it consistently gives an error of:  The instruction at "0x004167ca" referenced memovery at "0x0000000c" The memory could not be "read". The computer is on SP3.  I have uninstalled and re-installed the client as well.  The computer's OS is Windows XP SP3.  Any thoughts would be appreciated.

LANDesk 8.7 Remote Control Slow

user is experiencing slow time when trying to register drops with landesk, also experiencing latency in most functions with the software, only on one machine this is happening.

 

What are the possible reasons for this?

Hi,

 

I am running LANDesk 8.0 SP2.  When I try to remote control a computer from my devices it opens the screen acting like it is going to work but the window remains all black (screen shot attached).  There are still the options to chat and end the session, but none of them work.  There have been no changes to the server that I know of that would affect this feature.  Any ideas on what to check?

Classroom Manager - Can teacher change student channel remotely?

Dear All,

 

Got a couple of questions for Classroom Manager.

 

1. Can a teacher machine change a student's channel remotely through the LDCM Teacher Console?

2. I know that is a utility that allows students to change their own channel. Is there anyway we can allow teachers to change student's channel while preventing students from changing channel on their own? (It is because we don't want students to escape from teacher's control)
