Remote Control option not available for Windows 10 client

$

We installed the EPM agent on our first Windows 10 client but the ability to Remote Control from the Ivanti Management Console is not available (completely not listed vs. greyed out). We also noticed that even forcing a full Inventory scan does not report anything back to the Core. Based on the last update timestamp, it looks like it only registered with the core on the initial install of the agent which we ran manually on the machine.

Remote Control does work, however, via the web console. Not sure where to start. Appreciate any inputs.

Scripting Remote control - ISSCNTR.EXE

Hi all,

Are there any commandline switches for the remote control executable? Basically what Im trying to do is launch the remote control tool with an argument of an Ipaddress.

Im sure there are a few ways to accomplish this.. I noticed under the remote control tool it stores the recently accessed computers. Is this information stored in a text file? Im thinking it can be done with an authority script using automated key strokes but I would like to see if Landers has already built in functionality for this.

Has anyone played with this before? Our goal is to be able to launch the remote control viewer from our remedy help desk software. Does LANDesk still sell the remedy connector?

Thanks in advance.

Remote Control Operators group missing. How can I add a user for remote control ?

Hi, I wish to add a user to allow the remote control but the Remote Control Operators group  is not present on some workstations.

So what's the best practice to allow remote control for a non admin user ?

Best regards

Remote Control via IP address

We're having issues with DNS and need an option in that the technician can just specify the IP address if they need to remote control.  Since we can't exactly trust the IP address in the LANDesk database, I need a way for them to be able to initiate remote control without specifying a machine in the database.  Is there another way to kick off Remote Control from the management console?  Or from Run?  I would like to be able to get to the "Start Connection" window without having to initiate a remote control and then canceling it.

Thanks!

Remote Control not working

Hi Community

first we had the problem that the patching of our clients did not work.

On advice of the LANDesk-Support we installed LDMS 9.5 SP1.

Now on my test clients the Remote Agent is not working.

System:

Testclient 1 running on: Windows XP Professional, 32-bit, SP3

Testclient 2 running on: Windows 8 Pro, 64-Bit

LDMS 9.5 SP1 running on: Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard, 64-bit, SP1

Symptoms:

1. Errormessage when trying to remote control one of those clients:

Unable to establish a secure session with the remote computer (-5)

2. Due the installation of the LANDesk-Agent we got the following error message on the client: "The application could not be started, because LIBEAY32MT.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may solve the problem". I receive the same error message when i try to un- and reinstall the issuser with the following commands:

C:\Program Files\LANDesk\LDClient\issuser.exe /remove

C:\Program Files\LANDesk\LDClient\issuser.exe /resident

3. When i have a look at the agents on the client (right click client - properties - agents) the remote control agent status is not loaded. On the clients which are working the agent status is loaded.

4. The remote agent service (issuser.exe) couldn't be installed on the client.

5. In the survey of all devices in the LDMS the fault clients just got the symbol with the "field glasses". The "remote control symbol" is missing.

Troubleshooting:

1. Created a new Agent

2. Created a Advanced Agent

3. Run Uninstallwinclient.exe and reinstalled the agent after a reboot.

4. Reinstalled the old Agent which is working properly.

Does anybody have some ideas?

Thank you very much for help

Best regards

Any ideas?  I have reinstalled the client a number of times with the exact same error message when I attempt a remote control connection.

What does this error message mean?

CTRL+ALT+D will not work on one PC

I can open a remote session to a computer but the CTRL+ALT+D will not do anything. I can physically go next door and use her keyboard, do a CTRL+ALT+DEL to get to the log-in screen, then go back to my desk and continue with the remote session and log in to the computer and do whatever I need to do.

But for the life of me I cannot figure out why I can't do the CTRL+ALT+D. Even the little toolbar (Send A Special Key Sequence) feature at the top of the remote session will not work.

This is one of my employees who was terminated. Is there something she could have done on her machine to cause this? I can remote and do a CTRL+ALT+D on all the other machines on my network except this one. It is running Vista.

HI,

I'm using LANdesk v9 SP1. I have installed the RC viewer as a separate packages with ENURCViewer. Everything works except I need to always add the core server name manually in the field for authentication. I have try to add it with the switch /s or -s but nothing works.

Any idea how to prepopulate that fileds with the core server name??

Many thanks

Keyboard keys are mapped strange when DE controlling US system

Hey,

when I am connected to a client PC with the RC some of the Keyboard keys are assigned really strange. I would get used to it when it would switch to the US Keyboard layout but it doesn't do that for all keys. what could be a possible reason for this?

Controllers OS: German XP SP3

Controlled OS: US XP SP3

I did encounter this in the past a few times, but since now, we hadn't to remote control that many US clients. So this issue pops up now.

Our Core: 9 SP3

Remote Chat

Does anyone know if there is a way to configure chat through the remote control console so that it doesn't ask for permission? I still want send a chat request to remote users with out having them accept the chat request. I want a box to pop up on their screen with a message. I have had scenarios where a desktop isn't near a phone and the user is not at the desk to accept the request for me to send a message to call me when they are available. I don't want to change the security feature where permission needs to be granted for remote control.

Thanks

remote control on LANDesk 9.6

$

So we successfully completed the standup of a new LANDesk 9.6 server using Server 2012 and we were able to use the console to talk to the 9.0 agents that still existed and then push out the new 9.60.3.64 client.  The question or challenge that i have now is why some of those computers are not registering the binoculars or mouse symbols when viewing them in console.  I can remote into them via HTML5, I can see that they have the most updated client and the correct user and I know the machine(s) are online so they why no binoculars or mouse so that we can use console based remote control?

I'm hoping to troubleshoot but also understand how exactly that process works.

Thanks in advance.

Any Idea?

I have a new install of LD 8.8 SP2 that I have set up to test with. When I try to RC a client from my test core server, I receive the error above and am asked for username/PW, which none work. I have done a search and found the following, but not sure how to add the -s switch, as I am right clicking on a client and selecting Remote Control from the list.

Lenovo T510 and LANDesk 9 client mirror driver issues?

Anyone running a new Lenovo T510 with WinXP SP3 and LD9 having mirror driver issues?  Whenever I have the mirror driver turned on the screen fills with a ton of colors and I am not able to see the remote screen.  I turn the mirror driver option off and the remote screen comes to life.

Multiple Lenovo T510 running XPsp3 and Nvidia drivers.  I have a similar T410 running the same drivers without issues.

Ideas?

Upgraded to 9.5 from 9.0 SP3 - Remote Control - The signed rights document was not valid. Authentication failed.

Ever since we upgraded the core to 9.5 we haven't been able to remote control any computers.  We have yet to roll out the clients as we wanted to make sure everything works normally.  There were no errors reported during the upgrade.

Any ideas?  We are not using AppBlocking.  I read about the whitelist issues, but I don't think that apply's to us.

I looked but briefly.  Is there a way of killing a remote control session remotely?  I have some staff that leave remote control sessions up and walk away from the desk.
